Perilous Circles opens with a bang and keeps the pace throughout the novel. Filled with tension and violence, Ms. Gilmore has created a novel that will keep the reader going long into the night. This reviewer finished the entire novel in one sitting. WARNING, this is a book that can make a person late for work! Drugs, sex and rock and roll may seem like a theme from the eighties, but Ms. Gilmore has brought Perilous Circles into the present with characters that will make hearts pound. Taylor has been hurt in the past, and uses work to hide her heart. When work and love collide, she cannot run, and finds herself in deeper than she ever imagined. When she learns that Craig has had a sordid past, she stands by him, and nearly dies trying to save the man she loves. Craig makes a wonderful hero because his past makes him dangerous, yet he overcomes the past to make a future. When Bongiorno comes after Craig and uses Taylor to get to her father, the tension gives the story a whole new dimension. The background of Perilous Circles travels the world from the big cities of London and Los Angeles, to the countryside in Mexico. Ms. Gilmore has given her readers a glimpse into the lands of dreams. Each scene jumps from the pages into the reader’s mind to paint pictures of places, most only dream of seeing. This reviewer highly recommends this novel to any reader of romantic suspense. Angie Dobson What's very nice about this romance with crime scenario is it includes some scenes that move the characters out of the stereotypical image, including some trips with historical and cultural flair. The plot quickly becomes electric with a trip to Mexico, a kidnapping, the involvement of the FBI, a criminal who wants Taylor for his own, murder, and plenty of mayhem to keep the reader's adrenaline surging. While it's not too hard to predict that the bad guys lose, Gilmore never loses the reader's interest in this likely ending because she knows how to keep the mystery and suspense escalating without any breaks. Wow. What a story. This changes its mood and becomes unbelievably ugly near the end. In the beginning it is a good love story, although you know the hero is not pure and has handled drugs. Then it is all excitement and lovey-dovey as the band looks to be a sure hit and Craig and Taylor are inseparable. Once the drug kingpin gets a hold of Craig, it becomes starkly shocking. Diane Gilmore has written a wonderful debut novel that will grab your attention, hold it strong, and undoubtedly leave you wanting more when you reach the end. Her descriptions are so vivid that I could almost feel the chill of London fog as I eagerly delved into the story. Perilous Circles has it all; the glamour and excitement of the entertainment world, the danger and intrigue of the drug cartel; love, deceit, heartbreak and revenge, all rolled up into one fast-paced entertaining read. Gilmore shows great talent in her ability of creating believable characters with substance, heart and true grit. I look forward to reading more from this new voice in romantic suspense. Perilous Circles is a frightening novel that delves into drugs and the horror that being involved in that lifestyle can produce. Ms. Gilmore pens a novel that is serious yet touching in its intensity. This novel truly goes to show that one can never escape their past and that sins are paid for. The story has twists and turns that will hold you to its pages and sweep you into the dark world of drugs and the sleazy dark path of Robert Bongiorno. Perilous Circles is a wonderful, interesting, lighthearted novel. I could not stop reading it. The characters are so vivid, they kept my attention throughout the entire book. I actually cared about each and every one of them. Each scene is described in such detail, it's as if you're standing right there with them. I felt every emotion written. I even teared up during certain scenes. The budding relationship between Taylor and Craig is so sweet, and not in that sickening "oh please" kind of way. The British slang sprinkled throughout added a touch of realism to the characters. I highly recommend all romance lovers read Perilous Circles. You will not be disappointed. The book arrived this morning and I sat down to read it with my morning coffee -- and I've just finished it. I had to go into town for an appointment at 2 and nearly missed it. I was so engrossed and I picked the book up again as soon as I got home. It was BRILLIANT. It hooked me from the beginning. Boy did I really enjoyed it. The nice thing is it has left me wondering about what happened to the other characters (Jim Walden and Susan Holmes in particular) caught up in the story and how their lives turned out too. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Perilous Circles from beginning to end. From a pub in the Soho district of London to the drug fields of Mexico, the novel sweeps you up into the lives of Taylor and Craig and doesn't let you go. Perilous Circles is fast-paced, romantic, and descriptive, with enough surprises thrown in to keep the reader intrigued as the characters' lives are turned upside down. Taylor and Craig are an electrifying couple. they are complex, yet sensitive and caring, and their actions are believable. Author Diane Gilmore has created a wonderful cast of characters and a fast-moving plot that takes the reader to three countries. Her writing is so descriptive that the reader will see this book more as a movie than simply reading the words on paper. Perilous Circles definitely has romance, adventure and suspense.
